Meet the Author
Hi! I’m Chistine, Director of 3minuteleadership.com. I’m from the East Midlands originally but have lived in many beautiful locations on the Great British coastline. These days you can find me in Wales, close to Barry Island where I live with my husband, 6 year old son and cute, white fluffy dog, Misty.
What is my background?
I’ve had an interesting, squiggly career beginning with seven years in performing arts before I went back to education as a mature student to study English and Politics.
Gender equality – Policy development – Strategic leadership
Growing up in an era of women’s empowerment, I have been a passionate advocate for women’s rights from a very young age and have achieved some of my own ‘women’s firsts’ which have paved the way for others.
After graduating as a mature student, I went into labour market and skills policy which led me to work for the Welsh charity, Chwarae Teg (Fair Play), promoting gender equality in the economy. Alongside this, I was one of the founding Trustees of WEN Wales (Women’s Equality Network).
Working with lots of women leaders in Wales raised my aspirations further and I have followed my own path to leadership, holding Director roles with Ramblers GB (Non-Exec), the Community Transport Association and Sustrans.
I’ve also worked in a challenging political environment, leading on strategic planning for the largest local authority in Wales in the first year of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act which placed a sustainable development duty on Authorities.
